The Bauchi state chapter of the People”s Democratic Party (PDP) has asserted that there is no leadership vacuum in the party at the national level following the removal of Uche Secondus as national chairman.
State chairman of the party Hamza Akuyam made the assertion Wednesday in a press release issued to our correspondent.
According to him, upon the stepping down of the former National Chairman Prince Uche Secondus, the National Working Committee of the party and the Governors of the party rightly adopted Mr. Yemi Akinwonmi, the then Deputy National Vice Chairman (South) in line with the provisions of the party’s constitution.
He therefore insisted that there is no vacuum in the leadership of the party at present adding that the planned convention will hold as scheduled despite all attempts by some people ‘who do not mean well to the party’ to thwart it.
“Our attention has been drawn to a Daily Trust publication dated Tuesday 26th October, 2021 which was aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Peoples Democratic Party (P.D.P.). Hence our response in order to put the records straight.
