Reported comments by the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, condemning the impeachment of Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, has drawn the ire of one of the state’s leading politicians.
Blasting Saraki over the reported committments, Senator Hassan Lawal Dan-Iya, who represents Zamfara West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, in a statement he issued Monday, February 28, warned the Waziri of Ilorin to steer clear of Zamfara politics.
Senator Dan-Iya, who maintained that the Impeachment of Mahdi Aliyu Gusau followed due processes of law, described Saraki as “completely ignorant of happenings in Zamfara,” warning Saraki to desist from meddling in the affairs of the state, stating, “Zamfara is not Kwara”.
The senator said: ” Senator Bukola is absolutely wrong and Zamfara will not accept anyone within and outside, making any attempt to set us on collision course when we have already moved on positively.”
He advised the Waziri of Ilorin to “carry his meddlesomeness elsewhere because he cannot change where fate has placed us at the moment.”
