A group known as Gombe North Awareness And Reform Initiative (GONARI) has appealed to the State Government to reverse decision on relocating State College of Nursing and Midwifery from Gombe Local Government of Gombe North to Akko Local Government of Gombe Central.
This was contained in a statement issued to Daylight Reporters by a member of the group , Bello Bala Ganga.
According to Ganga, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya had on Tuesday announced the decision of the government to relocate the state College of Nursing And Midwifery to Akko.
“It would be recalled that the college was originally sited in Gombe Local Government before immediate past administration of Alh. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo moved it to Dukku Local Government of Gombe North.
We, the Indigenous people of Gombe North therefore, express our dissatisfaction and disapproval and call on the government to reverse this decision.” The statement reads.
Ganga points out that Dukku Local Government is one of the biggest local government in the state with prominent and magnanimous people but doesn’t have any tertiary institution while Akko Local Government had both Federal and State University.
