Ordinarily, I wouldn’t like to waste my precious time responding to ignorant lies written by a bootlicker. A person on the payroll of corrupt politicians but, for the public interest, I will present facts as different from fiction as purveyed by the malicious writer who does not dare to write in his name.
The faint-hearted writer chose to write under a pseudonym to deceive the public. With due respect to the person whose name the writer decided to be attributed, I don’t think he can make such blatant and ignoble lies written in a lofty style to hoodwink the readers using language as a facade.
The writer stated that his paymaster built mosques in Gona District. This is ridiculous, even if the writer is honest. Nigeria is a secular country that guarantees equality of all religions, even atheists. The shameless writer and his paymaster try to exploit our people’s religiosity to continue enslaving them and enriching themselves. Our District has more than enough places of worship. What the people need at this critical period are programmes aimed at addressing poverty and insecurity. In Hausa, we have a saying that says, ” Gina Mai Sallah yafi Gina Masallaci”. This means building a praying person is better than making a praying ground.
The claim that the Rep Single handedly built the Katam mosque is a spurious lie, he made a donation of 500,000 only, saying that he built the mosque alone would be an insult on the sensitivity and ego of the people of Katam who contributed at least 2.5 Million Naira
The legislator building six classrooms in Akko Town is far from the truth because the said classrooms were constructed under the Sustainable Development Goals programme. I challenge the coward to prove me wrong because we are fully aware that all the 360 Federal constituencies in the country have benefitted from the project.
The federal lawmaker has also unjustly excluded Gona from his empowerment programme, where beneficiaries receive a startup capital of 20,000. The programme has been clandestinely going on for a long. Information reaching us indicates that hundreds have benefitted from this initiative of the lawmaker in his native Kumo town.
Since his election, we know that at least 20 people have secured admission into the Nigerian Police academy courtesy of the lawmaker. It came to us as a surprise that only one of the 20 students hails from Akko North Constituency.
It is also known that throughout his stay in the hallowed chamber as our representative, he has never secured employment to any university graduate from our constituency.
During his tenure as Chairman of Akko Local Government, He built state of the art palaces for Akko and Pindiga Emirate together with mosques. The man did not hide his hatred towards Gona, as witnessed in the shoddy work executed in the Palace of Gona Emirate. The building does not even contain the Emir’s Chamber. Also, no mosque was built because we are considered inferior to the two other Emirates, which have a lesser population than us.
On the issue of the cars given out by the rep member, roughly 30 vehicles were distributed, out of which only six or seven were given to residents of Gona. Indigenes of the two smaller Emirates received the other 23 cars.
Despite our numerical superiority over the two other constituencies, all the injustice mentioned above meted against our constituency. Gona District contained 44.4 % of registered voters in the Akko Local Government Area during the 2019 elections. The two other Emirates share the remaining 55.6 % of voters.
Recently, nine people got employed in the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps courtesy of Kumo. Only one of them is from Gona got employed.
Despite his large number of aides and beneficiaries, it is surprising how the lawmaker chose an educated fellow to fight his political battles. For me, it is a ploy to ruin his academic pursuit and turn him into a subservient thug.
Gona does not want much from the representative. All we want is to be treated fairly. Our problem in Gona is an acute shortage of water. Families spend an average of 400 Naira daily to get water. Those that cannot afford it have to send their children two or more kilometres to fetch water.
I urge our elders, academics and politicians from our constituency to cooperate to ensure that our people get the dividences of democracy from our representatives and not connive with corrupt politicians to siphon our rightful Commonwealth.
