Ordinarily we should not have responded to this article but for us to make the records straight.
It is very sad and unfortunate that an Elder Stateman of high caliber like Mallam Isa Yuguda who was a Managing Director for over ten (10) years in two different banks, a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for more than six (6) years and a two term governor of Bauchi State for good eight (8) years will become sycophantic in just a short period of time.
Despite all the favors the Almighty Allah has bestowed on him, he has just converted himself into a Praise Singer rather than the role of a King Maker due to poverty, old age and lack of contentment. He is more or less a confused person and so looking for another chance to prominence for he could not realize that his time is up. He should at this time dedicate much of his remaining time seeking for the forgiveness of Allah instead of making so much unnecessary noise all over places looking for attention, relevance and sympathy for a token.
Without fear of contradiction, I have come to understand that these days the so-called Mallam has been attacking the Former Governor of Bauchi State M A Abubakar SAN and his successor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad (Kauran Bauchi) over their inability to sustain the legacy he left behind on medical and Healthcare sector.
“IT IS LAUGHABLE FOR A POT CALLING A KETTLE BLACK”.
1. Has Mallam Isa forgotten that at the end of his second term in office in 2015, the Vocal Mallam left office with about N12.6 billion unpaid workers salary which largely includes the salaries of medical and health workers he claimed to have made.
2. Has he also forgotten that as far back as April 2011 Mallam Isa stopped the payment of gratuity completely that includes his medical and health workers.
3. In 2015, he handed over to the incoming government the sum of N13.7 billion unpaid gratuity which also includes his medical and health workers.
4. After he handed over power in 2015, the records available to the Office of the State Accountant General shows a total number of 1,205 mainly ghost Nurses and Midwives with 166 non- existent Medical Doctors. These group of workers were consuming an upwards of N50 million monthly as salary with virtually nothing to show for the value of the money spent.
5. He also claimed to have trained 150 medical students just on paper as a means of syphoning the state treasury. He only sent twenty (20) to Egypt, one from each Local Govt but within a period of two years most of them have run away from that country because non qualified students were sent. Former Deputy Governor ENG Nuhu Gidado went for the graduation but the story can be better said by him as to how many Bauchi State graduating students he met at Egypt. Most of the students were not admitted on merit but you know me, I know you.
6. Actually MALLAM Isa Yuguda should cover his face in shame because immediately after he left, there were either no Doctors or just one in most of the hospitals across the state.
7. Similarly, in that same 2015, it was discovered that his administration left behind a whopping sum of N1.2 billion as unpaid electricity bill against the state which is mainly from the hospitals across. Due to that, all the hospitals were disconnected by NEPA for failure to pay as at when due.
Unfortunately, at that material time Bauchi State does not have resources to pay and hence resorted to providing fuel for generating plants in case of emergencies.
8.The best specialist hospital he said he built was not completed even though 100% of the cost was hurriedly paid to the contractor who had to refund the money for the entire gas plant of the hospital while water supply was done by our govt.
9.Furthermore,even the airport wasn’t completed though 100% of the money was hurriedly paid to the contractor. Till date the conveyor belt for luggage valued for N2.3 billion has not been installed Etc etc.
10.Finally and sadly enough, his administration brought Bauchi State to its knees and still battling to come out of the ghost worker phenomenum as a result of his poor financial management. He was just dashing out government resources as if there was no rule of law. He unilaterally placed over twenty thousand (20,000) youths and women of his choice on the state payroll to create more difficulties for the incoming governor. This is without recourse to the rule of law as if there were no state assembly members. The most reckless government of all times in the history of Bauchi State and the most non prudent. Surprisingly, he studied Economics at ABU Zaria in the 1970’s.
Ironically, the youths and women at that time did not realised he was not helping them by giving them CASH anyhow but destroying their future. No provision for education and no skill acquisition. Now most of them are biting their fingers for money, time and energy wasted.
Adviseably, MALLAM Isa Yuguda should go and market his candidate without castigating the other personalities. The yard stick for measuring your earlier performance is that you contested on two occasions but could not go beyond primaries. That shows you have not achieved much compared to your claims.
I further advise that it is high time for you to go home and rest to stop deceiving yourself. You are no longer relevant in politics anywhere. People have Xrayed you severally and discovered that you have nothing to offer again in Bauchi talk less at the Federal level.
