Protesters Demand Khalil’s Release As Activitists Write US Congressmen

Protesters have gathered outside the US District Court for the Southern District of New York to demand the release of Mahmoud Khalil.
It could recalled that, a federal judge had on Wednesday,ordered the government to allow Khalil to have private phone calls with his lawyers.
TRT World reports that, activists with Code Pink organisation have also gathered in Congress, urging lawmakers to sign a letter demanding justice for Mahmoud Khalil.
According to the report, Code Pink says 95 members of Congress have signed the draft, which calls for an immediate investigation.
On Monday, only 14 Democrats signed a separate letter from Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, calling Khalil a “political prisoner” who was “illegally abducted” and demanding his “immediate release.”
Khalil, a permanent resident of the US was arrested by federal agents for organizing a demonstration calling for an end of Israel’s genocide against Palestinians.
