Kaduna based Financial expert, Friday Agbo, says present structure in Nigeria has a problem, while adding that the proper solution to the problem is restructuring.
Agbo noted that commendable attempts have been made by the politicians and some stakeholders to contributing to the argument for restructuring but with little or no professional inputs.
The financial expert asserted this during a briefing with the newsmen in Kaduna at the weekend, where he asked: ” what is the modality for restructuring that captures the uniqueness in the groupings and the concept of a unified Nigeria?
He opined that adoption of mixed economic policies and unified tax system will maintain separation of power and create synergy among the different level of governments and being one of the solutions to the economic problem of the country.
According to him, there is a crucial need for a systematic approach that will proffer solution to the nation’s political, economic and cultural variables.
Agbo also identified multiple taxation as one of the factors affecting the economic growth in the country.
He recommended that the present tax system be modified as a panacea to source mobilization.
” Nigeria should adopt mixed economic policies and unified tax system so as to maintain separation of power and at the same time create synergy among the different levels of governments “, Agbo recommended.
