The governorship candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in Gombe State, Khamisu Ahmad Mailantarki, has Muslims to pray for peaceful politicking and 2023 general elections.
In a statement he issued on Saturday, Mailantarki congratulated Muslims in the state and the country on the celebration of Eid ul-Adha.
He said that the celebration should be marked with a re-dedication to faith and complete submission to the will of Allah.
“It is a celebration that ultimately, through reflection and re-dedication, enables the Islamic faithful to honour the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) so as to increase their faith and remain close to Allah,” the NNPP governorship hopeful noted.
“I also call for prayers, from our brothers and sisters in Gombe State and across the country, for a peaceful election comes 2023 as the people go to the polls to perform their civic responsibility of electing their leaders for another four years.”
Mailantarki lamented the state of affairs in the state and vowed to bring meaningful development that will change the fortune of the citizenry if elected as governor of Gombe State in 2023.
He said he joined the governorship race with the intention of rescuing the people of the state from the shackles of poverty.
