Police Arrest Jigawa Man For Inserting Scissors In 8-Year-Old Girl’s Genitals

A 32-year-old man, Bashir Umar, has been arrested by police for allegedly inserting scissors and a spoon into the genitals of an 8-year-old girl in Dutse local government area of Jigawa State.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawal Shiisu Adam, the incident was reported on August 29, 2024, at the Dutse Divisional Police Headquarters.
The suspect allegedly coerced the minor into a restroom, where he committed the heinous act, causing severe injuries and bleeding.
The victim was hospitalised and received treatment for her injuries while the suspect was arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
In a separate incident, two suspects, Aminu Usman and Shitu Wada, were arrested for breaking into a shop in Gagarawa and stealing food items and cash.
The suspects, who were arrested based on a tip-off, confessed to the crime and were found in possession of the stolen items.
Both cases have been charged to court, and the police have assured that justice will be served.
