One Adeniyi Adegoroye, 27, on Thursday, appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing cell phone worth N38, 000.
Adegoroye, whose address was not provided, is charged with stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp Foluke Adedosu, told the court that the defendant committed the theft on March 9, at 11.15 a.m. at Mokola in Ibadan.
Adedosu said that the defendant stole a Tecno Pop 5 belonging to one Deborah Hamzat, in contravention of Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs I. O. Osho, granted him bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until June 22 for definite hearing.
