Zamfara State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has disclosed that, the attempts by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to unseat Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle from office will continue to fail.
The party disclosed this in a statement signed by it’s State Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau after a judgement by Justice Eko Iyang of the Federal High Court 5, Abuja on the case filed by the PDP on the governor’s defection from the party to APC.
According to the statement, the governor used his constitutional right to decamp from the PDP to the APC in June 2021.
It stated, “The Zamfara Chapter of the PDP has again suffered another blow that will last it eternity to come by as Justice Eko Iyang of the Federal High Court 5, Abuja today shifted the PDP’s case struggling to unseat incumbent Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle from his executive office.
“APC in Zamfara State will continue to be the party to beat in the coming elections and would not be distracted by any plan by desperate or failed party but will continue to mobilize more of our supporters for the success of the party at all levels”.
The APC commended the presiding judge for carrying out a meticulous job to see that justice is rightly dispensed without fear or favour.
“We at the APC wish to congratulate His Excellency, the Matawallen Maradun for his resoluteness, resilience and commitment and not being deterred by the court process but concentrating in developing the state and fighting insecurity.
“We wish to thank the good people of the state over their support and prayers which keep driving the governor to make our state better.
“The governor who has strongly maintained a level playing ground to all political parties in the state, has also always implored the political players to join hands with him in developing the state for the better.
“It therefore behoves on all to sheath swords of discord, join the governor and fashion the best ways for the state”.
