PDP BoT Meeting: Tension As Anyanwu, Ude-Okoye Attend As National Secretary
By Juliet Vincent
There is palpable tension at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting as both Senator Samuel Anyanwu and former Youth Leader Sunday Ude-Okoye parading themselves as National Secretary are in attendance.
Chairman of the BoT and former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, officially got the meeting under way at 12:05 pm with Anyanwu present from the beginning while Ude-Okoye breezed in at about five minutes later.
According to the South East PDP, Anyanwu should no longer be the National Secretary following his selection as the Imo State candidate.
On December 20, 2024, the Appeal Court in Enugu upheld Ude-Okoye as the PDP National Secretary, and the decision was formally communicated to the party leadership on December 24, 2024.
The Court of Appeal in Abuja last week, however, issued a restraining order, directing Anyanwu to remain National Secretary until the Supreme Court resolves the appeal.
