The son of the Bauchi State Governor, Shamsuddeen Bala Mohammed, has reacted to the ongoing tour by Seyi Tinubu, son of the President, to various states in the nation.
Seyi Tinubu was seen gifting rice in polythene bags to youths, particularly in northern states.
In an open letter posted on his Facebook page, Shamsuddeen urged Seyi to empower youths with meaningful opportunities rather than handing out temporary aid.
He emphasised that the youths of Bauchi State do not need food in nylon bags during Ramadan, stating “Please teach our youths how to fish, rather than feed them for one day, they are not beggars”.
Shamsuddeen highlighted the need to provide sustainable empowerment to the youth, requesting that Seyi provides employment opportunities, Keke NAPEP, startup capital for businesses, ICT infrastructure, and training for crypto trading, among other benefits not food.
