Only Nasarawa LGA Has Over 10 Solid Minerals – Outgoing PS

Speaking of the huge solid mineral endowment of Nasarawa State, the state’s immediate past Permanent Secretary (PS), Ministry of Environment, Garba Rosha Mohammed, has disclosed that Nasarawa local government area (LGA) alone has deposits of over ten different solid minerals.
He made the disclosure while handing over the mantle of commissionership of the ministry to his successor, Hon. Isaac Danladi.
According Mohammed, virtually all parts of the state are endowed in solid minerals as each of the thirteen local government areas of the state can boast of deposit of one or two solid minerals.
Welcoming the new commissioner, Mohammed reaffirmed the ministry’s readiness to expedite action in delivering the ministry’s mandates.
He acknowledged the foresight of the new Commissioner,Hon. Danladi, describing him as a complete technocrat and politician of high value.

Ibrahim Sadeek, called on the staff of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to accord utmost support to the new commissioner to succeed.
Upon assumption of office on Monday, the new PS, Hon. Danladi tasked the management and staff of the ministry to to work in dedication and commitment to the reform efforts of the state government.
Declaring that he runs an open door policy, he said all hands must be on deck, urging stakeholders including the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, the Traditional Council, and other authorities to support government’s policies in revamping the state’s economy.
“My door is open for all and sundry to exchange ideas,” he said, adding that he would not tolerate indolence, ineptitude or gossip amongst people.
Stating that everyone’s attention was needed to unearth the abundant resources in the state, Danladi called on the staff to stay away from misrepresentation.
He reiterated his unwavering commitment to working round-the-clock with a view to justifying the confidence reposed in him by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
The newly posted commissioner identified climate change, environmental protection, and the mining industry as a gateway to sustainable future for the State, adding that the state sovernment would sustain its commitment in partnering with the World Bank, investors and other development partners.
While speaking on Governor Sule’s NEDS target, Danladi said, “This is a mandate that we have, and we must achieve it through connection, collaboration, coordination and cooperation with the commitment being shown by His Excellency.”
