The former Vice President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alh. Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated Tayo Jegede over his victory in the just concluded People’s Democratic Party, PDP gubernatorial primaries in Ondo state.
On his verified twitter handle @atiku on Thursday, the former Vice President urged Jegede to work in concert with the principles of the party.
He said for the Ondo state governorship election coming up in October, hence the need for the party’s candidate to forge a united front to win the election.
“Now that a candidate has emerged in the keenly contested primary, it is time for Mr Eyitayo Jegede working in concert with our great party,

“It is incumbent upon us as one big, united family, to reach out to other contestants and stakeholders for us to build a formidable arsenal that will ensure clear victory at the polls.”
Recall that eight aspirants sought the party’s ticket at the primary.
They are Agboola Ajayi, Eyitayo Jegede, Boluwaji Kunlere, Eddy Olafeso, Ben Okunomo, Bode Ayorinde, Godday Erewa and Sola Ebiseeni.
With his emergence as PDP flag-bearer, Mr Jegede is again the main challenger to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress party, APC in the state.
