The Director General of the World Trade Organization, Okonjo Iweala, has assured Nigeria of the WTO’s support in helping her out of infrastructural deficits bedevilling the country.
She also said that the World Trade Organization will be working together with other non-state actors such as the IMF, World Bank, among others.
Dr. Iweala disclosed this during her four day working visit to Nigeria, at the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The WTO DG was welcomed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama in Abuja on Monday.
She further said the WTO will support Nigeria in the area of capacity building and entrepreneurial products, especially at a time when the country has to diversify from oil.
It will be recalled that the former Nigeria’s Minister for Finance resumed as the new Director General of the Geneva based WTO on the first of March, 2021 and arrived in Nigeria on Saturday on a four day working visit.
