The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Taraba State Council, has sympathized with the correspondent of PUNCH newspaper in Taraba State, Mr Justin Tyopuusu over the death of his father, Late Pa Tyopuusu Facii who passed on to glory on 9th August, 2024
Speaking on behalf of members of the union in the state during a condolence visit staged by the executive members of the council to the bereaved compound, the chairman of the council, Comrade Mathew Eliud Jen, stated that the council had received the news of the demise of Pa Tyopuusu Facii with rude shock
Comrade Eliud noted that the departure of a relative such as a father is always painful, especially when it comes suddenly as the case of Pa Tyopuusu Facii
He however, asked Mr Justin to take solace in the fact that his father was a great man who toiled hard and left several legacies that would stand a test of time, stating that God in his infinite mercy, would divinely comfort Mr Justin and his entire family by raising a capable person who will fill the vacuum created in their lives as a result of the demise of the father
“On behalf of the entire journalists in Taraba State, I want to tell you that our thoughts are with you at this challenging time. We commiserate with you over this unfortunate incident and pray that God Almighty who took the life of our father, will grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”. He added
Also speaking during the visit, the Vice chairman of the council, Comrade Also Adamu, described departure of a father as one of the most painful things in the life of a man. He said the demise of Pa Facii was unfortunately coming at a time when the services of his son, Mr Justin, were highly being appreciated and sought after in the state.
Adamu described Late Facii as a great man who groomed and left behind a very wonderful legend, Mr Justin, whom he said, would mourn him but keep the family flag flying.
He urged Mr Justin not to derail but to be strong so as to give his Late father what he desired and lead the family strongly with hope that all is going to be well, adding that the council would go with him all through the trying time.
In their separate speeches, Comrade Jethro Yerga and Sylvanus Viashima, all encouraged the bereaved to consider that Pa Tyopuusu Facii did not die but had only gone to meet the Lord and so should stand firm, focus and be rest assured that where ever he is, he knows that he had left a man in charge of the family.
