The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara Command, has arrested a 22-year old Ayuba Enupe over alleged house breaking and theft.
This is contained in a statement by the Spokesperson of the Command, Mr Ayeni Olasunkanmi on Saturday in Ilorin.
Olasunkanmi stated that the suspect broke into the house of one Jimoh Adigun, at General Hospital Road in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state at about 1:00 a.m. on Thursday.
He alleged that Enupe stole five bundles of 50kg empty sacks from the complainant’s residence.
The NSCD’s Spokesman further said that the suspect was eventually arrested by some officers and men of NSCDC while he was trying to dispose the stolen materials.
“Further investigation revealed that Ayuba was earlier involved in another house breaking where he stole two Android phones from one AbdulRasaq, at his residence in Kuokuo Area, Kaiama,” he said.
Olasunkanmi said that the suspect would be prosecuted accordingly.
“The Acting Commandant, DCC Jonah Gabriel, appealed to the people of the state to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement in their areas.
“He gave the assurance that the corps would not compromise in its duties to protect lives and properties of Nigerians and requested for more cooperation and support to achieve a crime-free society.
