Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested Four people in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital over alleged Robbery,Criminal Conspiracy, Burglary, and Trespass.
The suspects were Emmanuel Aliyu ‘ 30 years old,Yusuf Sale , Yunusa Muazu ‘ and Hassan Umar ”whome ware 22 years, of age and are residents of Takur Addu’a, Unguwar Gabas and Unguwar Bare-Bari Kachi Quarters respectively, all in Dutse LGA.
According to the NSCDC, the suspects were reportedly arrested on different dates, with the last of the four arrested on Friday, 14th of October, 2022.
The NSCDC further disclosed that, Emmanuel, Yusuf and Yunusa conspired and forcefully gained entry into the house of Umar Yunusa, a Staff of NSCDC on the 24th of September, 2022 while he was sleeping.
They stated, “Upon hearing their movements, Umar woke up from his sleep and engaged them in a fight, but when he realized they were in possession of dangerous weapons, he shouted for help which made them scared and ran away. Luckily they left an exhibit, a head warmer, that was used in apprehending one of them and subsequently the rest of the ring members.
“On the same day, the suspects burgled into the House of one Abdulfatahi Sulaiman of the same address at around 0130hrs and robbed him of N15,000 cash and Techno Android phone valued at N55,000. He said they met him reading when they brandished cutlasses and knives to steal from him.
“Upon their arrest, they mentioned one other person, Hassan Umar whom they connived together and entered the houses of Ejike Nicholas, and Fahad Hassan on 17th August and 8th of September, 2022 all in Takur Addu’a, Dutse, stole a hp laptop Computer and LG Plasma TV”.
The suspects later confessed to be the gang terrorizing Takur Addu’a and its neighborhood using cutlasses and knives to steal from the residents.
The NSCDC said, the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution after investigations were concluded.
