Northern youth under the aegis of the ‘Northern youths assembly of Nigeria’ have hailed the senator representing Bauchi central zone Halliru Jika for his youth empowerment programs saying it will help in curtailing youth restiveness and thuggery in the state.
Speaker of the assembly Hon. Ukkasha Hamza Rahama gave the commendation in a press release issued to journalists Wednesday where he called on the Nigerian leaders particularly of the northern extraction to come up with more social welfare programs in order to mitigate poverty in the land.
It would be recalled that the senator last Saturday in Ganjuwa local government distributed empowerment materials to over 400 youth including Tricycles and farms vehicles to boost their farming and business activities.
Rahama disclosed that due to the current unemployment indices that is increasing at ‘geometrical progression’, there is urgent need to create synergies that will improve the lives and well being of the citizens.
According to him, Senator Jika has opened a challenge to other members of the National Assembly from Bauchi state and beyond to follow suits as lack of employment opportunities has become a serious concern to the nation.
“But with these gestures many have been left out of poverty . Jika as a reputable leader who has led his people with good heart at the time the world and the nation is on hold due to ravaging covig-19 Pandemic deserves accolades and encouragement.
“I urge and encourage him to do more while praying for him to do more in the future ahead . As you can see all my life ,I have spent all my life advocating for youths inclusion in governance and the Senator we can say is one of us and we will continue to support, pray for him and anyone who has passion for youth empowerment and youths inclusion in governance”. He said.
