No Village Head Resigned From Sabon Birni – District Head of Unguwar Lalle
The District Head of Unguwar Lalle in Sokoto State, Alhaji Mustafa Bunu Abdulhamid has refuted a story that some village heads from his area have resigned in solidarity with Senator Ibrahim Lamido representing Sokoto East Senatorial District.
The District Head made the disclosure in a popular vision FM Radio news programme Taskar Vision.
According to the District Head, Sabon Birni Local Government has 18 village heads, eight are in Gatawa while Sabon Birni Central and Tsamaye have five village heads each.
He said of all these village heads none has tendered any resignation letter indicating that he has relinquished his position.
“We don’t have any other village heads other than these ones and we have not received any letter of resignation from any of them,” he added.
“Our relationship with Governor Aliyu is mutual and very cordial, the Governor has done everything for us and we thank him,” he said.
The village heads of Tsamaye and Gangara Ishak Dan Galadima and Usman Aliyu have also refuted the purported report that some of them have relinquished their position for lack of care from the authorities.
They also reaffirmed the mutual relationship existing between traditional institutions in the area, and the state governor, adding that the Governor has been taking good care of them, as all their demands are being met by both the state and local governments council.
“Just Wednesday we had a meeting with all local government chairmen and no village head has announced his resignation or intention to do so,” Usman added
The district and village heads were responding to a purported story that 19 village heads in Sabon Birni local government have relinquished their positions in solidarity with Senator Ibrahim Lamido representing the District.
