The Kaduna State Governor was seen granting interview with newsmen in a trending video on Twitter, with this interview granted below
1. El-Rufai is not ready to compromise, as he termed the protest as Labour’s *”last ultimate weapon, which will not change anything.”*
2. He has declared Ayuba Wabba wanted for “economic sabotage”
MY OPINION
I’m not surprised at El-Rufai’s position, being a tough man right from time, who finds it hard many times to change his mind on any issue he has made a resolution on.
1. But in my opinion El-Rufai is only playing to the gallery with declaring the NLC President wanted, because if he truly want to get him arrested, he knows where Wabba is; why disturbing us with empty statement you can’t carry out. Moreover the NLC hasn’t done anything outside the ambiance of the law.
2. El-Rufai said they’re looking for him and later said, he should go to the nearest police station to report himself… This is simply Self-contradiction or confusion… Make e no be like say, you no talk before newsmen jàre 😁
3. While I commend Governor El-Rufai for some infrastructural development and increase in the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), yet all these developments should be made to have human face. Developments are meant to bring comfort to the citizens not to add salt and pepper to their injury. El-Rufai is over pushing people to the wall by always wanting to have his way, when you’re not a dictator!
4. You don’t have to be selfish and kill citizens with policies and plans that afflicts them the more, because you want to make record as the first Kaduna Governor to do this or that…
In pushing out a policy or plan, Nigerian governments at various level seems not to be doing well in always making citizens understand the motives behind their plans and policies and how it will benefit them, rather they’ll just wake up one morning and impose on people whether they like it or not, as long as I make personal record as a leader…🤷♂️
For instance, the sacking of some workers. Truly, there are some paid for doing nothing, some without requisite qualifications to hold that position they are and some not just fitting to where they’re serving.
I’m of the opinion that, if you’ll sack people, pay these people their entitlements without wasting time and let them go to establish themselves in something else, because one person has many mouths to feed and when you just sack them you increase the crime rate in the society, because hunger pushed people into it. In
You can even reshuffle and move some to where they can be more productive…
Also, the issue of about 300% increase of the school fees, because you feel it’s cheap. Why not look at the capacity of the citizens, how buoyant are they, that you just want to shoot up their fees?
What of parents who are paying through their nose to give children an affordable education?
Our leaders should know they can’t be right every time, hence should learn to know when to be firm and when some feelings of empathy for the people they’re leading.
