A renowned philanthropist cum politician, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 60th anniversary celebration.
As the country marks its 60 years of freedom from the British Colonial Rulers on the 1st of October, 2020, the Gombe born politician urged Nigerians to be united and work as brothers and sisters in the interest of the nation.
The philanthropist who is the Sardaunan Gombe also salute the resilience and determination of the indigenes of the state as Gombe also clocks 24 since its creation in 1996 by the late Sani Abacha’s regime.
In a statement signed by his aide, Hon. Sani Abubakar, Jamil Gwamna stated that, “As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we must, as a people look back on all our sweet and bitter memories together and chants a way forward to a better Nigeria.
“We must also be mindful of the fact that the freedom (Independent) we enjoyed today as a people couldn’t have come without the efforts of some notable Nigerians irrespective of their ethnic and religious difference and hence the need to think on how we can make Nigeria a place of wealth and peace for all and sundry.
“With a true national spirit and liberty, I wish Nigerians a Happy Independence Day. Let us remember the golden heritage of our country and feel proud to be a part of Nigeria.”
