A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Timilehin Leukeamia Foundation (TLF), on Friday said it would host about 1,000 underprivileged children to a Christmas feast on Dec. 25.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), TLF, Mrs Janet Oyedele, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the gesture is to put smiles on the faces of the underprivileged.
She also noted that the children would be served delicious meals to give them a feel of Christmas at the programme, to be held at Agege.
“TLF will be having a special programme for the 2022 Christmas. We intend to feed 1,000 children on Christmas Day at a ghetto area in Agege, Lagos.
“It’s the first of it kind that will be embarked upon by the foundation for Christmas, though we have been having a series of programmes for children.
“The programme is tagged “Christmas on the Streets, Feed a Child this Christmas.
“The programme will take place at Oniwaya, Agege, starting from 12 noon and it will not stop until we reach our target,” she said.
Oyedele said that the motive is to put smiles on the faces of the children, adding that no one should be denied the joy of Christmas.
“Christmas is a season of joy to everyone, so we want to make the children happy as well, especially those who cannot afford what others have on their tables.
NAN reports that TLF was set up to help Leukaemia patients, especially children who need financial support for the cancer of the blood treatment.
The NGO also champions voluntary blood donation and provides for the medical treatment of 10 leukemia patients annually.
