National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Iyorchia Ayu, has called on the Muslim community to pray for the rebirth of the country towards lasting unity and prosperity.
Ayu, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant (Media and Communication), Yusuf Dingyadi, Saturday, 30th July, was congratulating the Muslim community on the entry of the new Islamic year.
The PDP helmsman tasked Muslims to intensify prayers for unity, development and cohesion of the nation, as well as for the election of leaders possessing the capacity to bring lasting peace and rapid development for the reconstruction of a greater nation.
“‘We should not lose hope or allow anybody to use his failure to destroy this great and blessed nation,” Ayu warned, saying, “We are a people united by a common destiny of greatness which we must bequeath to our upcoming generation.”
He stressed: “Nothing should change our determination and commitment to restore the lost glory of this great nation.”
Congratulating the Muslim community on the new Islamic year, Ayu said: “On behalf of the entire PDP family, I rejoice with our Muslim brothers and sisters of this country on their celebration of theNew Islamic Year 1444 (Hijrah)”
The PDP strongman urged Muslims in the country to rekindle their faith which emphasises love of one another, forgiveness and greater dedication to peace and development.
He urged the Muslim community to support the PDP as, according to him, the only party capable of rescuing and resetting Nigeria by unifying it and ensuring it’s economic growth, security, education development and true federalism.
He appreciates the role of all party members across the country for their support and determination to making Nigeria greater again.
