The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has appointed the Managing Director of Kaduna Electric, Dr. Umar Hashidu, into the Initial Stakeholders Advisory Panel (ISAP).
This was contained in a statement Thursday by the Deputy Managing Director of Kaduna Electric, Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed.
ISAP comprises seasoned technocrats, energy experts, and professionals and serves as the think tank as well as the highest consultative and policy advisory body in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
According to the statement, ISAP, which has a three-year tenure, will focus on addressing critical challenges in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, including regular reviews of the Market Rules and Grid Codes, as well as advising NERC on technical issues relating to the operations of the electricity market.
Mohammed described the appointment of Hashidu to the panel as an attestation of the strategic position of Kaduna Electric as a leading player in the nation’s electricity market and an affirmation of the Commission’s approval of the sterling leadership qualities of Kaduna Electric’s Managing Director/CEO.
