The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief items to victims of windstorm disaster in Ogori Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi.
The Director-General of NEMA, Mr Mustapha Ahmed, who was represented by Mr Justin Uwazuruonye, Head, Abuja Operations Office of the agency told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the distribution done in collaboration with the Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (KOSEMA).
Uwazuruonye who commiserated with the people and the Kogi State government over the unfortunate incident, said the relief items were meant to cushion the effect of the incident.
He gave the details of the items distributed to the victims as bags of cements, bags of rice, beans, maize, roofing nails, zinc nails and roofing sheets.
Others are men’s wear, women’s wear, children’s wear, nylon mats, buckets, plates, spoons and cups.
NAN reports that the windstorm destroyed houses in July.
