NEDC Hands Over Mega School to Gombe State Government

In a landmark achievement for educational development in the Northeast region, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) has officially handed over a newly constructed mega school to the Gombe State Ministry of Education.
The facilities in Government College, Dadin Kowa, Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, are set to transform the educational landscape and enhance learning opportunities for students in the area.
The newly constructed facilities feature an impressive array of modern amenities designed to provide an optimal learning environment.
Spacious classrooms designed to accommodate a large number of students, Well-equipped laboratories to facilitate practical learning experiences, comfortable student hostels to provide boarding facilities, a robust solar power system to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and a secure perimeter fence to safeguard the school premises.
During the handover, Mr. Rufai Lawan Babamanu, the Acting Coordinator of NEDC in Gombe State, stressed that the commission’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure across the region goes beyond the provision of amenities.
He also said the Commission provides support to teachers aimed at promoting their morale, which caters to improving the teaching and learning process as well as changing the face of students at large.
Babamanu expressed appreciation to the NEDC management, led by Muhammad Goni Alkali, for their visionary leadership and dedication to the successful completion of this vital project in the educational sector.
He urged the ministry, school management, and community leaders to join hands to secure the completed building, which would undoubtedly benefit future generations.
Dr. Aishatu Maigari, Gombe State Commissioner of Education, represented by the Director of Administration, commended the NEDC for its significant contribution to the state’s educational sector.
She stressed the positive impact the new megaproject will have on education and community and the region as a whole.
The Hakimi of Hinna, Alhaji Idris Isa Ngurkuma III, expressed his appreciation to the NEDC for the project and urged the state Ministry of Education and school management to maintain the facility to ensure its long-term sustainability.
The handover of the project marks a significant milestone in the NEDC’s efforts to address the educational challenges faced by the Northeast region.
Through providing quality educational infrastructure, the commission aims to empower the next generation and contribute to the development of the region.
