National Security Efforts Must Not Be Undermined – NCYP Backs Ribadu
By Abubakar Zakkariya, Abuja
The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP) has called on National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu to remain steadfast in the face of what it describes as “campaigns of calumny” against him.
In a statement issued on Monday, NCYP Chairman Isaac Abrak said the ongoing criticism of Ribadu was a distraction, urging him to stay committed to addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.
“Nigeria is at a defining moment, facing complex security challenges that require unwavering dedication, professionalism, and courage,” Abrak said.
“The NSA has demonstrated a resolute commitment to working towards a safer and more stable Nigeria.”
Abrak also urged Nigerians to reject divisive rhetoric and unwarranted attacks on leaders striving to strengthen the country’s security.
“Constructive criticism is essential for growth, but malicious attacks that seek to undermine national security efforts should be discouraged,” he added.
He further cautioned critics, particularly senior figures in society, to be mindful of their influence and to use their voices responsibly.
“Life is fleeting, and every individual will one day give an account before the Almighty. It is imperative to use one’s voice and influence for truth, justice, and the good of the nation rather than to spread division and falsehood,” he said.
