Nasarawa State Revitalises 58 Healthcare Facilities To Boost Quality Healthcare Delivery

The Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NSPHCDA) Dr Usman Eskilu Saleh has revealed that the Nasarawa State Government is up to date in the payment of her counterpart funds to the World Bank
He equally disclosed that the Nasarawa State Government had revitalised 58 primary healthcare facilities to improve medical services in rural communities.
The Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Usman Iskilu Saleh, made this known when Members of the Correspondent’s Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nasarawa State Chapter paid him a courtesy visit at the Agency.
Dr Saleh emphasised that the state
government was commitment to strengthening healthcare services, noting that Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration had consistently met its counterpart funding obligations to international health partners, including the World Bank.
He explained that the first phase of the project has fully equipped 58 healthcare centers to provide 24-hour services with trained medical personnel, including doctors and nurses.
The initiative aims to address healthcare access challenges in rural areas and encourage residents to utilise primary healthcare centres instead of overcrowding larger hospitals with minor ailments.
Dr Saleh also urged journalists to use their platforms to promote health awareness.
Meanwhile the chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Isaac Ukpoju, commended the Agency’s reforms, highlighting significant improvements in primary Healthcare in the state.
