The embattled former Kano commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Muaz Magaji, has “lost hearing” after an accident during police chase in Abuja on Thursday, a Kano magistrate court heard.
Mr Magaji was arrested after losing control of his vehicle and ramming into lamppost.
Appearing before Magistrate Aminu Gabari on Friday, Mr Magaji’s lawyer Garzali Ahmad argued that his client temporarily lost hearing owing to aural injuries he sustained after airbag discharge.
Mr Ahmad argued further that the accused would not able to hear the charges and take plea.
He therefore prayed the court to grant bail to his client to seek medical attention.
Ruling on matter, Mr Gabari ordered that Mr Magaji be taken to police hospital and remain in police custody.
He adjourned the case to Monday January 31.
