Zamfara State Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has described the death of former Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Malami Buwai as a monumental loss to Zamfara State.
The Governor disclosed this shortly after the funeral prayer of the deceased which held at the Gusau Central Jumuat mosque.
He noted that he received with shock the death of a seasoned farmer, Scholar, philantropist, administrator and an astute elder stateman in the state, Alhaji Malami Buwai.
Matawalle who described late Malami Buwai as honest, God-fearing and philantropist per excellence, noted that the former minister had contributed immensely to the development of Zamfara State especially in assisting the needy.
He said late Malami Buwai was one of the personalities in the fore front during the struggle for the creation of Zamfara State.
The Governor while condoling the people of Gusau Local Government Area and the state in general as well as the immediate family of the deceased, prayed Allahu SWT to forgive the short comings of the departed and grant his family the fortitude to bear the lost.
Born in Gusau, late Malami Buwai served as Minister of Agriculture during the regime of former Head of State, General Sani Abacha.
He died today in Gusau following a protracted illness leaving behind a number of children and great grandchildren.
The funeral prayer of the deceased was attended by Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Speaker Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Muazu Magarya, Senator Hassan Nasiha, Senator Sahabi Yau, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, Former Deputy Governors, Alhaji Muktar Ahmed Anka and Malam Ibrahim Wakkala, Chief of Staff to the speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Sanusi Garba Rikiji, Acting secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Engineer Abu Magaji Gusau, members of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Commissioners and other senior Government officials.
