The Police on Tuesday arraigned a 23-year-old man, Chiabo Ndubaku, in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a power generator worth N15,000.
The defendant, whose address is unknown, is facing a count charge of stealing but pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Clément Okuoimose, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb.13, at 11:00 a.m. at Age-Mowo on Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
Okuoimose said that the defendant stole a Tiger power generator belonging to one Mrs Jane Eme.
“The defendant entered the house when no one was around, and stole the old generator.
“He was caught and handed over to the police for prosecution.
“The offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” he said.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Fadahunsi Adefioye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
Adefioye adjourned the case until March 16 for mention.
