The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Tuesday charged a 31-year-old man, Rasheed Bolaji, with drug trafficking.
Bolaji is charged on two counts before a Federal High Court in Lagos State.
In the charge signed by its counsel, Mr Lambert Nor, NDLEA alleged that Bolaji illegally dealt on 5.3kg cannabis sativa (hemp) on Dec. 2 at Ikoyi, Lagos State.
The agency said that cannabis, along with cocaine, heroine and other psychotropic substances, is restricted by law.
Trafficking in them attracts a penalty of up to life imprisonment.
No date has been fixed for arraignment of the defendant
