The Police in Lagos on Monday arraigned a 30-year-old man, Victor Michael, before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing one Infinix Smart Phone valued at N48,000.
The defendant, of no fixed address, was charged with stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Clement Okuoimose, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 15, at about 11.30 p.m. at Iyana-Ilogbo area of Lagos State.
Okuoimose alleged that the defendant waylaid the complainant, Ganiyu Hammed, and dispossessed him of an Infinix Smart Phone valued at N48,000.
“Michael was arrested with the stolen property and handed over to the police for prosecution,” he said.
He said that the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Fadahunsi Adefioye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Adefioye adjourned the case until April 26, for mention.
