LG Distributes Food Items, Cash To Over 220 Vulnerables In Jigawa

The Jahun Local Government (LG) in Jigawa State has secured the supply of dozens of large consignments of food items and shared to over 200 vulnerables.
Speaking while making the disbursement, the Chairman, Honorable Jamilu Danmalam, said the donation also.goes with cash.backing of five thousand naira to each.of the 220 beneficiaries.
” Today we’re supporting some of our less privileged with foodstuffs and cash support as part of our social corporate responsibility to better the lots of our needy,” he said.
According to Danmalam, this gesture would serve as motivation and comfort to the beneficiaries by reducing hardship and poverty for a better living, especially in this fasting period.
Amongst the beneficiaries are members of the people with disabilities, ( PWDs) whose Chairman, Malam Wada Jahun, on behalf of the Jahun Chapter of JONAPWD, commended Jahun Council Chairman for the gesture.
Hon. Danmalam provided food items and cash assistance to 220 people’s living with disabilities from the 11 wards in the local government area.
Each beneficiary received one cartoon of of Super Geity, a bag of rice, and N5,000 cash donations.
Emphasising that the disabled people deserved support and care, the Chairman also called on the people of Jahun Local Government, especially the wealthy men and the entire populace of Jigawa State to remember to support person’s with Disabilities to better their living condition, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The Vice Chairman, Hon. Rabi’u Salisu Harbo, and the Director of Finance and Administration, Alh. Yakubu Bala, acknowledged that the Chairman obtained their consent and approval before implementing the support programme.
