The Lagos Free Trade Zones Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has stated that it hopes to surpass its 2025 revenue target as it has already generated N113 billion in the first quarter of the year.
Area Comptroller of the Command Olanrewaju A. Olumoh stated this on an address on Friday when he received members of the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise led by its Chairman, Rep.Leke Abejide.
He said, “Despite being the youngest Command, the Lagos Free Trade Zone Command he emerged as a front-runner in revenue performance.
“Starting with a modest N25K.05 billion in its first year, the Command has recorded consistent year-on-year growth. In 2023, it generated N74.05 billion. Buly 2024, revenue soared to an impressive N358 billion, surpassing the target of N133 billion. As of Q1 2025, the Command has already recorded N113 billion, indicating another potentially record-breaking fiscal year.”
According to him, the Command was established in February 2022 and began operations with eight free zones.
Comptroller Olumoh said, “We currently oversee fifteen (15) Free Zones housing growing number of enterprises. In addition, the Lekki Deep Seaport, under our our jurisdiction, continues to experience substantial growth, fast becoming a major maritime hub within Nigeria and across the West African Subregion.
“The Free Trade Zones under the Command are; Lagos Free Trade Zone; Lekki Free Trade Zone; Dangote Free Trade Zone; Alaro Free Trade Zone; Eko Atlantic Free Trade Zone; Ladol Free Trade Zone; Snake Island Free Trade Zone.
“Eko Support Free Zone;Bestaf Free Trade Zone; NASCO Free Trade Zone; Murtala Muhammed International Airport Free Trade Zone; Flour Mill Apapa Free Trade Zone; Flour Mill Iganmu Free Trade Zone; Flour Mill Tin Can Free Trade Zone; Koko Beach and Wellness Value Chain Resort FTZ and Lekki Deep Seaport”.
Speaking, Chairman of the Committee, Rep. Leke Abejide appreciated the performance of the Command saying that, it shows a promising future for the nation’s economy.
He added that, the Committee and the House as a whole will continue to provide legislations that will not only make Customs operations better and generate more revenue to the nation and improve Nigeria’s Economy to become more competitive and productive.
