The game of 2023 has since began across all states of the country with political gladiators scheming in favour of their chosen and prepared hopefuls.
In Kwara state, where the present Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak alias, AA is enjoying his first term of four years by doing all he can to get the State out of the woods, some political adversaries of the Governor and glaring enemies of the state are busy heating up the polity unnecessarily and to the detriment of the state.
It started when one of the sons of the state and present Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Muhammed who joined hands with some desperate politicians to ostensibly make the state ungovernable by Mr Abdulrazak.
It will be recall that Mr Lai had recently opened a parallel party office in the state and during the commissioning, he said lot of things that aren’t only untoward to the Governor, but damaging and destructive to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the state whose success Lai is now enjoying as the Minister.
In spite of the fact that Lai wasn’t at any point part of the campaign and struggles by endured the campaign train of the APC during the 2019 general election, unless when President Buhari visited the state, but nobody was against his nomination to represent the state at the Federal Executive Council, unfortunately he’s now scheming to systematically incapacitate the party to political inconsequence in the state to pave way for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to take over in 2023. Lai must be lying!
In their usual stock in trade, Lai and his cohorts have now resort to media war against our working and amiable governor, the recent is a publication by the online tabloid, TheCable with a caption; From O to ge to Otuka: How Abdulrazak frittered away the gains of Kwara revolution, the analysis was aimed at ridiculing the governor and promoting the promulgated ‘Third Force’ which might be the reason why Mr Muhammad is factionalizing the party – the BOB isn’t alone and only time will exposes them and also shame them in 2023, because Kwarans would never be hoodwinked by all the shenanigans.
The write up was full of unfounded accusion but at a point, it ended up promoting the governor ignorantly while exposing the ulterior motives of the writer.
It’s pertinent to note that, it was the people of Kwara state who gave Governor Abdulrazak the mandate in 2019 and no amount of conspiracy, sponsored media campaign, and political scheming would make them to change their minds in reaffirming and reactivating the mandate in 2023 – politics isn’t played on the pages of the newspapers as believed by the Abuja politicians and Kwara is the only play ground.
In fact, it’s laughable that someone was saying that Abdulrazak was imposed on them during the APC primaries. Then who imposed him on the people of Kwara state during the general election? This is a question they’ll never answer!
Also, what the governor would not do, is to allow the Abuja based political class to siphon and share the Kwarans money – that is his major crime. Those who cannot deliver campaign funds safely, can never be entrusted with people’s funds.
In 2023, the same Kwarans who voted for the governor in 2019 are the same people who are going to vote for him again – AA till 2027 is the new slogan.
