Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has approved the hosting of 2022 edition of Joint Trade Fair in the state, an official has confirmed.
Alhaji Garba Ibrahim, the state Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Tourism, made this known on Saturday while interacting with newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the joint trade fair is an annual rotational event jointly organised by Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States.
The commissioner said: “The Ministry of Commerce, Industries and Tourism has already concluded arrangement for the hosting of this year’s joint trade fair begining from May 10, 2022, which is expected to last two weeks.
“The annual rotational event will enable participating states to renew their long existing relationships apart from showcasing various economic products.”
He therefore appealed to all stakeholders to extend full support to ensure the success of the event, while urging them to extend similar support to government in its efforts to boost economic activities in the state.
Ibrahim encouraged people to take advantage of the fair to expand their businesses by reaching out to different categories of business organisations, groups and individuals coming from far and near.
He assured participants to feel free as adequate security arrangement had been put in place before, during and after the event towards ensuring its success.
