Kebbi Gov. Idris Optimistic About Timely Completion Of Koko-Dabai Road

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has expressed confidence that the ongoing reconstruction of the 87 kilometre Koko-Dabai Road will be completed in stipulated time.
The road was awarded at a cost of N64 billion.
This was contained in a statement by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Governor.
The Governor, who flagged off the project last month with an 18-month completion target, gave this assurance during an inspection of the project on his return from Yauri, where he attended the climax of the 2025 Yauri Annual Rigatta and Cultural Festival.
“What we have seen today has given us confidence that, by the Grace of God, the contractors will finish the work ahead of schedule,” Governor Idris stated.
He reaffirmed that Kebbi State was fully committed to funding the project, adding that the Ministry of Finance would fulfil its financial obligation to the three contractors engaged for the job.
“We believe in the rule of law and transparency, any company that has completed its documentation will receive its due payment after passing the required process,” he said.
Although the Koko-Dabai Road is a federal project, Governor Idris assured that both federal and state engineers, led by the Federal Controller of Works and the Kebbi State Ministry of Works, were actively supervising the project to ensure quality adherence.
The Governor further pledged that his administration, alongside the Speaker of the State Assembly and APC leaders, would continue routine inspection to ensure timely and quality standard delivery of the road project.9
