A renowned Katsina state Islamic scholar Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Masussuka has established a junior and senior secondary school for learning western education in Dutsinma local government area of the state.
The cleric in a press release he issued to DAYLIGHT REPORTERS yesterday said he has several qur’anic schools and students but deemed it good to establish a modern school in the area where residents would have access to western education at secondary level.
He explained that the school named “Masussuka School” will be commissioned tomorrow Tuesday saying that anyone wishing to enroll his children could obtain form immediately.
According to him, the school has standard classrooms, library, laboratory and furniture adding that there are also adequate teachers for all subjects.
“I have several qur’anic schools but I deemed it good to also establish a modern school where the people of my local government can acquire western education. We have a lot of children in the area and we need more schools to accommodate them.
“Government has a lot of responsibilities and is building a lot of public facilities. So, as scholars, we need to complement the government by setting up schools in order to contribute especially towards promoting education which is the bedrock of development.”, he said.
