Kano State Police Command in response to the recent upsurge in thuggery and related crimes around Dala Jakara, Kwakwachi and environs, carried out coordinated convoy and sensitization operations campaigns in some locations of the metropolis.
A statement by the PPRO SP AAbdullahi Haruna Kiyawa on Saturday said “the operations are to build the confidence of the populace and give them that assurance of police capacity to provide the desired safety and security to be enjoyed by all residents and the assistance of restoring peace in the affected areas.”
The convoy which consisted of trained police officers and the specialized units of the Command went around nooks and crannies of the volatile spots as part of proactive measures put in place to dismantle the criminal networks that have been responsible for the increased thuggery and related crimes in the area.
It maintained that “during the patrol, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command engaged the residents of the identified areas, raised their awareness about the behind-the-scenes activities of those criminals and encouraged them to cooperate with the Police Command by working together towards fishing them out. It was also emphasized that the community’s cooperation and collaboration play a vital role in fostering a safe and secure environment.”
“In furtherance, the operation is to serve as a testimony to the police commitment to creating a more secure and peaceful environment for all residents in Kano State.
” In addition, the engagement by the Police Command has assured members of the public of the ongoing efforts towards maintaining law and order in the State. Finally, members of the public were informed during the patrol to continue the use of every available resource to support the police efforts towards combating crime and bringing criminals to justice.”
