Journalists from some sections of the media, mostly from the Correspondents chapel, were barred from covering the 2025 budget presentation by Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State.
The budget presentation, billed to commence by 12 noon today Monday 25th November, 2024 saw some journalists denied entry into the State assembly press gallery.
DAYLIGHT REPORTERS gathered that the presentation was delayed due to a short circuit cascading failure.
DAYLIGHT REPORTERS reporter who was among those barred, said they were denied entry despite intervention by the Assembly Public Relations Officer and Abel Diah, a Member of the Assembly by security operatives who rather told them that they were not directed to admit journalists.
He said they were directed to allow Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries and local government Chairmen access to the gallery.
Some of the journalists left the Assembly premises angrily after heated arguments with the security operatives.
As at the time of filing this report the Governor is yet to arrive the Assembly premises.
