Jigawa tanker inferno: Petroleum Ministry Calls for Synergy With State Governments to Avert Future Occurrences

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lakpobiri has described the recent tanker explosion in Jigawa State as national disaster, calling on state governments to collaborate with the ministry in finding preventive measures on fatal accidents on highways.
He made the remarks at Government House, Dutse while on condolence visit on Governor Umar Namadi over the Majiya Tanker disaster.
He urged state governments to continue to educate and enlighten the people on the danger of inflammable accidents on the country’s major highways.
Senator Lakpobiri who led other executives of the petroleum industry to Jigawa State, called on state governors to collaborate with the ministry so as to find solutions for preventing future reoccurrence.
Responding, Governor Namadi appreciated the Minister for the visit urging the him to liaise with the National Union of Transport Owners of Nigeria, (NARTO) to design a national roadmap for the safety of commuters and people as ways for protecting occurrence of such incident.
