Jigawa Police Arrest 22 Suspected Robbers, Foiled Kidnapping

The Jigawa State Police Command has succeeded in arresting 22 suspects for armed robbery, vandalism, cattle rustling, among other committed heinous crimes across the state.
This was revealed in a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Lawal Shiisu Adam.
Those arrested are Umar Haruna ‘m’, 28 years of Yan gayami village, Nura Musa ‘m’ 25 years of Birniwa, Mustapha Ado ‘m’ age 20 years of Birniwa, Naziru Mohd ‘m’, 18 years of Unguwa uku, Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State and Junaidi Mohd ‘m’, 17 years of Magama Uku village.
Others are Abdulmajid Abdullahi ‘m’ 30 years of Kurna Asabe, Kano State, Atom Tertese ‘m’, 22 years of Gboko of Benue State, Haruna Isma’il ‘m’, 22 years of Bayan Tasha new Gwaram, Usman Haruna ‘m’, 26 years of Unguwar Baba Jani new Gwaram, Muhammed Adda’ilu ‘m’, 18 years of Tsangaya new Gwaram and Sale Usman ‘m’ of Gauza Jahun LG.
The rest are Audu Maigari ‘m’, of Jobi Fulani settlement, Maigatari LGA, Najib Binya ‘m’ 25 years of Kanti yamma Qtrs, Kazaure LG, and
Abba Halilu ‘m’, 26 years of Kanti Yamma Qtrs, Kazaure, among others
During the arrest, the Police recovered Bajaj and Lifan motorcycles, copper wire, three tecno handsets, armour cable wire, cow, ram, sheep, laptop, Pop 7 GSM handset, ceiling fans, two 600A battery cells, saw, spanner, digger, hoe, and scissors.
When interrogated, the suspects confessed to the crime and would be charged to court for prosecution.
In a related development, a distress call was received at Malam Madori division that, unknown armed men stormed the residence of one Alhassan Audu ‘m’ of Tudun Ghana Quarters, Malam madori LGA and kidnapped him.
On receipt of the call, patrol team led by the DPO promptly rushed to the scene, engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel. During the process, the hoodlums were forced to abandon the victim and flee.
Efforts are being intensify to apprehend the fleeing culprits.
