In a statement by the association’s Publicity Secretary, Dr. Shamsu Gujungu, indicated that the outreach themed “Kidney Health for All: Unravelling the Aetiology and Ending Chronic Kidney Disease” is first of its kind to be held in Jigawa State.

According to the statement, the pioneering campaign aims to address the rising incidence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) with the support and counseling of the expected invited medical professionals on Kidney’s ailments.

Activities lined up for the three days outreach include public health lectures, panel discussions, stakeholder’s engagement and free kidney health screenings among others.

Stakeholders are expected to deliberate on finding the causes CKD in Hadejia, identifying effective solutions—including digital innovations—and charting a pathway to
action for improved kidney health.

The outreach is supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Jigawa
State Ministry of Health.
