Junior Chamber International (JCI) has conferred human duties ambassador award on the chairman Bauchi State council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Umar Sa’idu.
The organisation presented the award to him during a courtesy visit to the chairman on Thursday.
They solicited working synergy with the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bauchi State council to empower young people and create positive change in the state and country at large.
The appeal was made by the JCI National Vice President North East, District II, Ambassador Hauwa Musa.
Hauwa said JCI has been involved in various projects and events, such as the JCI Africa and the Middle East Leadership Academy, where JCI Nigeria was represented
The National Vice President added that, JCI has local organizations in Nigeria which holds meetings to provide leadership development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change
Ambassador Hauwa Musa commended Nigeria Union of Journalists Bauchi council particularly under the leadership of Umar Sa’idu for the usual support to their activities and called for its sustenance to enable them achieve their set objectives.
It added that the present leadership of NUJ in the state has demonstrated its commitment towards improving the standard of journalism and assisting citizens of the State, hence the award.
In his response, the NUJ chairman, Umar Sa’Idu, commended the activities of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) and encouraged them to do more for the overall development of the country
He reaffirmed NUJ’s commitment to continued partnership with relevant bodies towards improving the livelihood of people in the country
