Int’l Women’s Day: Abuja Municipal Council Boss Commended For Gender Equality, Women’s Empowerment

Information and Communication Technology Consultant, Hon.(Ambassador) Mina Horsfall, has commended the Abuja Municipal Council’s effort on women development and gender equality.
Hon. Horsefall, said this in her goodwill message to the Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Council, Hon. Christopher Zakka on the occasion of this year’s International Women ‘s Day Celebration.
According to Horsefall, “as the world marks International Women’s Day on March 8th, the Abuja Municipal Area Council has reaffirmed its dedication to promoting gender equality and women empowerment”.
Speaking on this year’s theme, ”Accelerate Action”, which resonated deeply with Abuja Municipal Council, where women have made significant strides in politics, advanced economic growth, and contributed to the delivery of dividends of democracy, Ambassador Horsfall acknowledged the crucial role men have also played in supporting their empowerment.
She said, the Municipal Council Chairman had given women wings to fly and paved the way for the future generations of women.
She maintained that, the Abuja Municipal Council, under Hon. Zakka’s leadership has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting gender equality and creating opportunities for their advancement.
On the achievements of the Municipal Council Chairman, she commended the council’s achievements, including the empowerment and appointments that have positively impacted women in Abuja.
Ambassador Horsfall who expressed her deepest appreciation to Hon. Zakka’s tireless efforts in supporting women’s empowerment stated that Abuja could create a society where women are valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential with his leadership.
