As the youth across the globe celebrate the 2020 International Youth Day, a day set aside by the United Nations to celebrate youths all over the world, the immediate past Commissioner for Youth Empowerment in Gombe state, Malam Farouk Yarma says the International Youth Day is an avenue for the youths to look back at the successes recorded in the past and plan for a better future.
Speaking with Daylight Reporters, Yarma said a lot of challenges are being faced by the Nigerian youths which subsequently indicated the gloomy future of the Nigerian youth.
“In my own view, this is a day of the year that youth will look back at the success recorded in their lives and in the lives of the entire humanity. It is also a day for the youth to project their future expectations. Undoubtedly, there are numerous challenges drawing back the ambition of the youth of today on how to be future leaders.
“The differences in opinion, culture, religion, political views and traditions among the youth of Nigeria pose the greater challenge the youth are facing. Other challenges include drug and substance abuse also present a monumental challenge. He said.
Yarma felicitates with the youth across the globe on the anniversary of the 20th International Youth Day celebration, and prayed that God will grant the youth the ability to overcome the challenges.
“I pray that Allah will give those in the youth age bracket, and even those of us that have gone beyond these ages, the ability to understand one another and to eschew our differences. He played.
