The new Acting Rector of the Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Lafia, Dr Ibrahim Dauda, has advised that all hands should be on deck with his to walk the talk and build legacies that are exceptional, bold, and innovative for progress.
Dr Ibrahim Dauda has promised to build on the enduring legacies of his predecessor, Dr Nurudeen Maifata, to sustain the impactful development recorded in the institution in the last one year under his reign as Acting Rector.
Acknowledging the presence of laudable projects in the polytechnic, he commended his predecessor, Dr Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata, for running an all-inclusive and vibrant administration.
He thanked Governor Abdullahi Sule, the governing council and the polytechnic community for choosing him to superintend in acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive rector of the polytechnic, as he pledged to leave no stone unturned in addressing critical issues.
Presenting his handover note earlier, the immediate past acting rector of the polytechnic, Dr Maifata said he had taken painful but best decisions for leadership excellence under his watch, adding that he had delivered on the mandate given to him.
Dr Maifata expressed appreciation to Governor Sule for reposing confidence in his leadership, noting that it was a rare opportunity for him to serve.
He saluted the support he received during his stewardship from individuals and institutions in the last one year, advising the new helmsman to do the right thing as he described him as competent for the job.
Some staff of the institution who rained encomiums on the past and present leaderships, expressed optimism that there would be light at the end of the tunnel.
The handover ceremony had in attendance the polytechnic registrar, Zamani Habu Ibrahim, Bursar, Zainab Dalhatu, Director of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol, Mukhtar Wakeel, other management staffs, and some members of the polytechnic community.
Before his appointment as Acting Rector, Dr Maifata was the Polytechnic Librarian while the new Acting Rector was the polytechnic’s Director of Academic Planning.
